Pakistan has successfully conducted a training launch of the Shaheen-II surface-to-surface ballistic missile, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Tuesday. This test was critical for evaluating the missile’s performance and validating various technical parameters to enhance its accuracy and survivability.

Observation and Oversight

Senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces Command, and scientists and engineers from strategic organizations were present to witness the launch. The Director General of the Strategic Plans Division commended the technical expertise and dedication of the scientists who made this achievement possible.

National Leadership’s Response

The successful test was acknowledged by Pakistan’s top leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the three service chiefs. They extended their congratulations to the scientists and engineers involved in the successful launch.

Routine Testing and Military Preparedness

This training launch is part of Pakistan’s routine testing of its missile capabilities. In a related event last month, the Pakistan Navy showcased its combat readiness by successfully firing FN-6 surface-to-air missiles (SAM) in Karachi, effectively engaging airborne targets during the demonstration.
