HCC Shares Rally After Company Sets Record Date for Rights Issue

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) shares jumped sharply after the company confirmed the record date for its upcoming ₹1,000 crore rights issue. The stock witnessed strong buying interest on the BSE, pushing it to a new intra-day high.


Stock Jumps Over 14% After Record Date Announcement

Shares of HCC rose 14.2% to hit an intra-day high of ₹27.46 on the BSE. The rally followed the company’s announcement that Friday, December 5, 2025, will be the record date for the rights issue.

At 11 AM, the stock was still trading 10.15% higher at ₹26.49 per share. In comparison, the BSE Sensex slipped 0.32% to 85,369.3.

A rights issue is a fundraising method where a company offers new shares to its existing shareholders in proportion to the shares they already own.

Details of Hindustan Construction’s ₹1,000 Crore Rights Issue

The company’s board approved raising ₹1,000 crore on November 26, 2025, through a rights issue.

  • Issue Price: ₹12.5 per share

    • Includes ₹11.5 premium

  • Eligibility Ratio:

  • Opening Date: Friday, December 12, 2025

  • Closing Date: Monday, December 22, 2025

  • Last Day for On-Market Renunciation: December 17, 2025

  • Last Day for Off-Market Renunciation: December 19, 2025

The company noted that the issue period may be extended, but it cannot remain open for more than 30 days from the start date. Once closed, applications cannot be withdrawn.


Total Shares to Increase After the Rights Issue

Following the rights issue, the total number of outstanding shares of HCC will rise from 181 crore to 261 crore, strengthening the company’s equity base.
